Jaguar XK 150 S OTS 1958
This Jaguar XK 150 S has been delivered to the USA in September 1958 the car has a rare colour
combination of Tan interior, Sand colour hood and finished in black.
According to the Jaguar Daimler heritage-certificate this XK 150 S car has two previous
owners and spent most of its life around Washington DC.
I bought this XK 150 S from the second owner in Washington DC, in the end 2007 who is Jag
enthusiast. He had the car for 25 years.
During his ownership, he has painted the car in old English white, red interior and black hood.
He has restored the car but after restoring had done very low mileage.
I imported the car in 2007 to Germany and used the car for 3 years. I decided to do a frame
off restoration to bring her to the original colour combination and to a concise condition.
In 2010 I took the car to the UK for complete bodywork as the experts for these cars are in the UK. This was a good chance for me to dive into the car in the UK and to drive down to Coventry the birthplace of the car and went for Jaguar factory visit.
Body Work
The body repair was done at Leaping Cats in Warwickshire. After completing the bodywork
the body was taken out of the frame and taken to a specialist in Ansbach Germany for sand
basting gave a primary coating.
Trimming
The Trim Center Ltd. in Warwickshire did the trimming work.
A set of bucket seats for the car also got fitted. The colour combination is, Tan interior, sand
Hood and black body colour. These are the original colours as per Jaguar Daimler heritage-
certificate. This colour combination was very rare.
Painting
The undercarriage and inside the body was painted and then the body was prepared for
painting. The car was painted in black. The chassis was also painted in black colour.
Engine
The engine was given to a specialist, who is working on classics Jaguars regularly in Germany.
By rebuilding the engine went into details such as balancing the crankshaft with flywheel
and damper to have a smooth running engine. Used high-performance parts to have a
quality machine. All the aluminium items were buffed and polished including the cabs. The
tribble carbs been overhauled by Southern Carburettors in West Sussex.
Cooling System
The radiator was stripped and cleaned and refitted. This was done by Kuehler Becker in Wuerzburg Germany. A Kenlowe Blower is fitted too.
Transmission
The original Moss transmission with overdrive was exchanged with the Getrag gearbox. Due to this a new prop shaft was fabricated and fixed. Along with the Getrag gearbox, a diaphragm type Presser plate was fixed. The original Moss box with overdrive and prop shaft is also available.

The suspension was stripped, sandblasted and repainted and refitted with poly-bushes, new ball pins. Also, new half-shafts wheel bearings, and Spax shock absorber were fitted. The front stabiliser was replaced with an upgraded stabiliser from Gur Broad.

Fuel Lines
The fuel tank was cleaned and fitted with new cooper lines and flexible supplied by SNG Barrett. Two new original SU fuel pumps were fitted.
Steering
The rack and pinion was reconditioned by Kiley Clinton Engineering Ltd. After receiving the unit, fitted to the car with new tie rod ends. The steering Colum was striped painted and refitted with new bushes.
Chrome
The complete buffers with overrides, window frames and all interior chrome items were re-chromed in Germany. Few chrome items that were not in good condition for chroming were replaced with new ones from Coventry Auto components.

The car came with a new set of Dayton wire wheels and radial tyres. But after making many upgrades new set of Dayton 6.5 J x 16 inch wire wheels with 215 x 16 were fitted to improve handling. The 6 J x 16 inch wheels with redial tyres are also available.
This car has been restored to a very high standard by using original parts. Many photos are available to show the restoration steps. Thanks to Ian Mills who helped with his advice to do the restoration to this high standard.
In 2014 the car was taken to Twyford Moors to recheck and get a few upgrades.
